Girls Destined for Greatness!

The Bay Area Book Festival’s partnership with Cinnamongirl, Inc. is stronger and more exciting than ever this year. August 2020 marked the beginning of a brand-new, year-long creative-writing program, Write Your Story, in which 19 aspiring writers, all girls of color aged 12-18, honed their craft and their artistic voices with the mentorship of published authors, all women of color. We can’t wait for this new generation of writers to share their work with you at the seventh annual festival!

And, of course, as in years past, we’re featuring several Cinnamongirls (some returning, others new to the Fest) as moderators and interviewers in events with some of today’s most popular and beloved authors of middle-grade and YA literature. You’re in for a treat: these young ladies bring their smarts, joy, and unique perspective to every event, making for  unforgettable, disarmingly open dialogues with some of your favorite writers.
