Come hungry for this appetizing array of story time readings by authors whose new books are all about everyone’s favorite topic: food! Food stylist Aliza Sokolow, author of the activity book This Is What I Eat, will highlight ways to encourage mindful eating—for young gourmands and picky eaters alike! Shuli de la Fuente-Lau will read her beautifully empathetic board book How We Eat, which celebrates the variety of food, culture, and abilities with photos showing many different ways people can eat. Charlotte Cheng will take us on a journey through the sights and smells of a night market in Taipei in Night Market Rescue, and Ying Chang Compestine (who’s also a former food editor in addition to being an award-winning author) will invite readers to a fantastical, colorful Dragon Noodle Party. Hungry for dessert? How about some perfectly in-season strawberries, celebrated in Katherine Pryor’s Spring Is for Strawberries. We hope we’ve whet your appetite for this mouthwatering, supersized session that will also feature cooking demos—stop by any time for a taste (and maybe a tasty tidbit or two), or settle in and enjoy a veritable smorgasbord of great stories! Ages 4–10.
