Hayward Lit Hop

Saturday, April 22 | 2:00 PM - 8:00 PM

Hayward's Heritage Plaza, 835 C St, Hayward

  • Outdoor

A variety of local writing groups will put on hour-long readings and shows at various venues, mostly for all ages, and all free and open to the public! We’ll gather at Hayward’s Heritage Plaza first for music and an Earth Day-themed reading from poet laureates from around the East Bay, then disperse to venues along B Street downtown, then congregate again for music and refreshments at the Sun Gallery, which will showcase a climate change–themed art exhibit. Presenting groups include the California Writers’ Club, Horror Writers’ Association, the Mystery Writers’ Association, the Bay Area Queer Writers’ Association, the Afrosurreal Writing Workshop, the East Bay Sci Fi and Fantasy Writers, Women who Submit, and several groups of students from Cal State East Bay, Chabot College and the Hayward Unified School District (K-12 students). We’ll have a bilingual English/Spanish reading and hopefully at least one interpreted in ASL. This is a free event.
