1970-01-01 00:00:00 1970-01-01 00:00:00 America/Los_Angeles Literature Live Around the World Ever wondered what book-lovers are reading, writing, caring about in Afghanistan? Nigeria? Jamaica? Argentina? Starting on February 12, 2021, join an intimate, fascinating virtual view into “other states, other lives, other souls.”  Literature Live Around the World (LLAW) is a remarkable collaboration of 12 international literary festivals, each presenting a one-hour program with conversations and performances featuring some of that region's most interesting authors. Leave lockdown behind: LLAW will immerse you in the culture, authors, and ambience of 12 destinations around the globe. All of the events are free, need no registration, and will be streamed right here on this website. LLAW runs for 12 hours live on Feb. 12, then will be available on-demand through Feb. 22. The Schedule link below shows the times, in the Pacific zone, when each event happens in real time. While it starts at noon in Norway time (that's 3 a.m. Pacific time), there's no need for virtual jet lag: Within a few hours of the live program's conclusion, you'll find the entire replay right here, segmented into chapters so you can jump to "visit" whatever nation you want. This unprecedented international literary collaboration is the brainchild of LitFestBergen in Norway. BABF is proud to represent the U.S. with a program showcasing what makes the Bay Area such an international touchstone and featuring Dave Eggers and Vendela Vida.   » More Information » Full schedule » Speakers More than 50 speakers from around the world!
