Total SF Book Club Live: Urban Hiking in San Francisco with Alexandra Kenin

Saturday, May 7 | 12:30 PM - 1:30 PM
  • In-Person Only

San Francisco Chronicle Stage in the Park

  • 2022
  • Environment/Nature
  • Outdoor (Free)

Ever wonder where to find the secret wild places—a hiker’s rugged dream—in the big bad city? Alexandra Kenin (Urban Trails: San Francisco) has done the legwork, meticulously tracking all 70 miles of hiking trails and 220 parks (some famous, some hidden in plain sight) in mainland San Francisco, Alcatraz, and the islands. And her latest book, Urban Trails East Bay, does the same for us across-the-bridge denizens. In this special live and in-person edition of the San Francisco Chronicle‘s Total SF Book Club, Heather Knight and Peter Hartlaub get the scoop from Alexandra about the best natural places to play, wander, and discover in the city we all know (but maybe not as well as we think we do!) and love.

The bookstore partner for this session is Books Inc.! Buy the books online on their website, at Bookshop.org, or purchase them in person at the Festival. More information here.
