YA: Falling for Love

Wrap up your book festival day with this celebration of young love, offering the perfect swirl of coming-of-age sweetness and teenage awkwardness with a guaranteed happily-ever-after for all. Author and educator Tiffany Golden and Nafi, one of the young writers from Oakland’s Chapter 510 youth writing center, will be our host for a session of heartfelt first loves, crushes, and school dances, where everyone finds their perfect match. Artistic, sensitive Santi falls for musical prodigy Suwa in Lio Min’s Beating Heart Baby. Go-with-the-flow Delilah rolls the dice on Dungeons and Dragons nerd Reggie in Elise Bryant’s Reggie and Delilah’s Year of Falling. And hardworking Lydia discovers a soft spot for aspiring filmmaker Fran in Amy Spalding’s No Boy Summer. Get ready to swoon! Ages 12+.
