Anoosh Jorjorian

Anoosh Jorjorian (they/she) directs programming for the Davis Phoenix Coalition (DPC), in Davis, CA. DPC was founded after an anti-gay hate crime, and their mission is to counter identity-based bigotry, promote Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, and bring marginalized voices to the center. Programming includes peer-support groups for LGBTQ+ families and Spanish-speaking immigrant mothers. Jorjorian oversees DPC’s advocacy on behalf of under-represented constituencies in Yolo County, and they provide trainings on inclusion, cultural competence, and radicalization prevention for youth. They also host a radio program, Hello Davis, on the third Wednesday of the month on KDRT 95.7 FM.

Dan Alter

Dan Alter’s poems, reviews and translations have been published in journals including Field, Fourteen Hills, and Zyzzyva; his first collection My Little Book of Exiles won the 2022 Cowan Poetry Prize. A volume of translations Take a Breath, You’re Getting Excited, from the Hebrew of Yakir Ben-Moshe, was published by Ben Yehuda Press in September 2024, and Hills Full of Holes, a second collection of poems, by Fernwood Press in March 2025. He lives with his wife and daughter in Berkeley. He works at the Magnes Collection of Jewish Art and Life at UC Berkeley.
