Britta Stromeyer Esmail
Britta Stromeyer Esmail is a writer and educator passionate about raising resilient girls and writers to find their own voice. She is the author of Raina’s (UN) Happy Birthday, a picture book recipient of the Gold Seal of the Mom’s Choice Awards, as well as a StoryMonster Inc. Award and the Reader Views Literary Awards Honor for 2018-2019. Esmail is an editor for Tuxedo Literature & Arts Journal and the assistant editor for FastForward Magazine, a publication written by and for kids. She teaches creative writing workshops for adults and kids grades 5–12. She holds an M.A. in international communication from American University, a certificate in novel writing from Stanford University, and is currently an MFA candidate at Dominican University. She is a member of the National Writing Project Council, the Society of Children’s Books Writers and Illustrators, and the 12×12 Picture Book Challenge. Her short fiction was a Finalist for the Bellingham Review Tobias Wolff Award for Fiction 2021.
