Cai Emmons is the author of the novels “His Mother’s Son” and “The Stylist.” Her newest novel, “Weather Woman,” is about a meteorologist who discovers she has the power to change the weather. Cai’s story collection, “Vanishing,” winner of the 2018 Leapfrog Press Fiction Contest, will be published this Fall. Formerly a playwright and screenwriter, her short work has appeared in such publications as TriQuarterly, Narrative, and Arts and Culture, among others. She holds degrees from Yale University, New York University, and the University of Oregon, and has taught creative writing and film at the University of Oregon, the University of Southern California, UCLA, and Orange Coast College.
