Gennifer Choldenko

Choldenko is best known for her “Tales from Alcatraz” series, which has sold more than two million copies. The first book in the series, “Al Capone Does My Shirts,” was a Newbery Honor Book and the recipient of 20 other awards. The fourth and most recent book in the series is “Al Capone Throws Me a Curve” (May 2018). Gennifer lives with her loyal husband and naughty dog in the San Francisco Bay Area. Her dog has this to say: I’m Sasha Choldenko, Gennifer’s German shepherd, and I’d like to add my two doggy biscuits here. Gennifer says she’s written 14 books for kids, but how many are for dogs? Lately, I’ve decided to take matters into my own paws. I am recommending these changes to Gennifer’s previous books: “Dog Does My Shirts,” “Dog Shines My Shoes,” “Dog Does My Homework,” “Al Capone Throws His Dog a Stick,” and my personal favorite, “Chasing Cats.” Send your fan mail directly to me. Bones of any kind are also welcome.
