Karen Paget
Karen M. Paget’s new book is “Patriotic Betrayal: The Inside Story of the CIA’s Secret Campaign to Enroll American Students in the Crusade Against Communism.” She is a political scientist with more than 45 years of experience in academia, government, philanthropy, and public policy. She holds a doctorate from the University of Colorado, as well as an MA in International Affairs. Paget is a contributing editor to The American Prospect, and has written on topics ranging from gender politics to the US military budget. She is coauthor of “Running as a Woman: Gender and Power in American Politics,” and has lectured in Europe, Latin America, and Asia. In 1998, the Open Society Institute awarded her a fellowship to write “Patriotic Betrayal.”
