Kelli Stanley

Kelli is the creator of the Miranda Corbie series (CITY OF DRAGONS, CITY OF SECRETS, CITY OF GHOSTS, CITY OF SHARKS), literary PI novels set in 1940 San Francisco and featuring “one of crime’s most arresting heroines” (Library Journal). She’s been honored with numerous nominations and awards, including the Macavity and Bruce Alexander, is a Los Angeles Times Book Prize finalist, and was the Historical Guest of Honor at the Bouchercon World Mystery Convention in 2024. Kelli was also the founder and president of Nasty Woman Press, a non-profit publisher of the Anthony Award-winning anthology SHATTERING GLASS, which benefitted Planned Parenthood. THE RECKONING, her latest book, is a tense, atmospheric and timely thriller set in Northern California’s “Emerald Triangle” amidst the marijuana wars and serial killings of 1985. Dan Alter

Dan Alter’s poems, reviews and translations have been published in journals including Field, Fourteen Hills, and Zyzzyva; his first collection My Little Book of Exiles won the 2022 Cowan Poetry Prize. A volume of translations Take a Breath, You’re Getting Excited, from the Hebrew of Yakir Ben-Moshe, was published by Ben Yehuda Press in September 2024, and Hills Full of Holes, a second collection of poems, by Fernwood Press in March 2025. He lives with his wife and daughter in Berkeley. He works at the Magnes Collection of Jewish Art and Life at UC Berkeley.
