Lance Knobel

Lance Knobel is a co-founder of Berkeleyside, Berkeley’s award-winning, independent news site. He curates the annual Uncharted ideas festival, which Berkeleyside launched in 2013. In 2001-02, he was an Adviser in the Prime Minister’s Strategy Unit, London, Tony Blair’s Downing Street think tank that examined medium- and long-range strategic issues. There, Knobel was involved in work on science and technology policy, energy security, and speculative work examining truly long-range challenges for the UK. From 1992-2000 he was Editor-in-Chief and Managing Director of World Link, the magazine of the World Economic Forum. In addition to his responsibilities for World Link, he was Programme Director of the Annual Meeting of the World Economic Forum in Davos in 1999-2000.
