Growing up as a Christian kid in Muslim Turkey, Magdalena Yeşil hitched a ride across the Bosporus at dawn to take the SAT and later smuggled herself out of the country dressed as a stewardess to make it back to her junior year at Stanford University. She sees obstacles as opportunities and understands the liberation of having nothing to lose. She is the author of “Power Up: How Smart Women Win in the New Economy,” as well as a founding board member of Salesforce, the founder of the first Internet payment company, CyberCash, and one of the first people to see the commercial potential of the internet and e-commerce.
