Marya Brennan
Marya Brennan used to teach middle school for five years, but now she’s the director of NaNoWriMo’s Young Writers Program. So she still gets to help young people and teachers, but now she gets to say things like “Let’s circle back to that comment in the Editorial Huddle,” and “I’m going out for coffee, anybody want anything?” In the meantime, she writes (currently working on a novel) and walk her evil genius little brown dog. Marya Brennan believes that writing fiction is a transformative experience, and she loves helping people (young and old) discover the magic of this process. She has written several beautiful, messy novels (one still in progress), and traveled Europe as part of a two-person street circus. She loves revising words she’s already written and making herself laugh.
