Nick Farmer

Best known for developing the Belter constructed language (conlang) for Syfy’s “The Expanse,” linguist Nick Farmer also served as a consultant for the forthcoming 7th edition of “Linguistics: An Introduction to Language and Communication,” published by MIT Press. Raised by his MIT-trained linguist mother, and inspired by his godfather, Ken Hale, Farmer has long been fascinated by languages and the cultures of those who speak them. He was born in Tucson, Arizona, raised all over the place, and currently lives out of a suitcase, splitting time between the coasts.
