Nidhi Chanani

Nidhi Chanani, who was honored by President Barack Obama as a Champion of Change for her art, just released her first graphic novel, “Pashmina,” which The New York Times lauded for transforming “the complex immigrant narrative into a magical and captivating work of art.” Chanani was born in Kolkata, India, and raised in California. She holds a degree in literature from the University of California, Santa Cruz and works to create illustrations that capture the love in everyday moments. Her illustrations are sold in boutiques along the West Coast, and she’s worked with companies like Disney and Hasbro. Nidhi lives in the Bay Area.
