Oliver Chin

Oliver Chin founded Immedium, an independent San Francisco publisher of multicultural children’s picture books that has published nearly 50 books since 2005. A magna cum laude graduate of Harvard, Oliver works to increase the representation of Asian American characters in media. Oliver has written 20 books, including “Julie Black Belt,” the graphic novel” 9 of 1: A Window to the World,” and sports commentary “The Tao of Yao: Insights from Basketball’s Brightest Big Man.” His newest children’s storybook is “The Discovery of Fireworks and Gunpowder” in the series “The Asian Hall of Fame.” Oliver also authored the popular series “Tales from the Chinese Zodiac,” which features each of the animals of the lunar new year, and a new 2019 edition will feature a bilingual translation in simplified Chinese. Called “an expert on Pacific Rim pop culture” by the San Jose Mercury News, Oliver regularly presents at schools, libraries, and cultural associations nationwide.
