Spencer Gregory began his 35-year career in law enforcement as a Deputy Sheriff in Alameda County and then moved to the San Francisco Sheriff’s Department. In 1980 he entered the San Francisco Police Department. His first assignment was at Central Station where he worked as a patrol officer in a radio car for the next eleven years. He then transferred to CSI where he was promoted to Inspector. He investigated crime scenes for the next 21 years, handling over 200 homicides prior to his retirement in 2012. He earned a BA in history from San Francisco State University.
