Stephanie Young
Stephanie Young’s books of poetry and cross-genre writing include “Ursula or University,” “Picture Palace,” and “Telling the Future Off.” She edited the anthology “Bay Poetics” and is a founding editor of Deep Oakland. With poet Juliana Spahr, she co-edited “A Megaphone: Some Enactments, Some Numbers, and Some Essays about the Continued Usefulness of Crotchless-pants-and-a-machine-gun Feminism.” Most recently, she and Spahr collaborated on The Program Era and the Mainly White Room. Young’s new poetry appears in About a Bicycle and Threadcount. She teaches creative writing and literature at Mills College, where she was an integral member of the bargaining team that won a first collective contract for adjunct faculty at the college this spring. She lives in Oakland.
