With Our Words

With Our Words is the premier literary and performing arts organization in Stockton and the Central Valley and has been recognized with multiple awards as a leader in the field of youth spoken word. The WOW Youth Poetry Collective is extremely popular for their powerful keynote presentations and engaging workshops and serves hundreds of students each year. These diverse voices (ages 14-24) have been featured on HBO, toured with classical musicians, performed with orchestras, jazz ensembles and hip hop superstars. Their spoken word videos promoting social justice and environmental awareness have been written about in the New York Times, Huffington Post and the Journal of the American Medical Association. An incredible 97% of WOW Youth Poetry Collective members have graduated from high school, with 92% attending college, and 6 now teaching in Stockton schools.
