Zoe Dorado

Zoe Dorado is a FilAm writer from the Bay Area. She is the 2024 National Youth Poet Laureate of the Western U.S. and a winner of the San Francisco Foundation’s Nomadic Literary Award. Her work has been published in Poetry Magazine, The Poetry Review, The Offing, and We the Gathered Heat (Haymarket Books, 2024). She is a Poetry Editor at The Adroit Journal and on the editorial team for The Fire Inside, a project initiated by people inside California women’s prisons in collaboration with former prisoners and advocates on the outside. She has previously been part of Youth Speaks SPOKES and the Brave New Voices Future Corps, and served as the inaugural Alameda County Youth Poet Laureate back in 2021. Zoe studies English and Politics at Pomona College.

Dan Alter

Dan Alter’s poems, reviews and translations have been published in journals including Field, Fourteen Hills, and Zyzzyva; his first collection My Little Book of Exiles won the 2022 Cowan Poetry Prize. A volume of translations Take a Breath, You’re Getting Excited, from the Hebrew of Yakir Ben-Moshe, was published by Ben Yehuda Press in September 2024, and Hills Full of Holes, a second collection of poems, by Fernwood Press in March 2025. He lives with his wife and daughter in Berkeley. He works at the Magnes Collection of Jewish Art and Life at UC Berkeley.
