FRIENDS OF THE FESTIVAL:
THE BAY AREA BOOK FESTIVAL’S PREMIER GIVING CIRCLE
It’s a new giving program for a new era. The Festival has always been low-cost, but we want to do even more for the community we love. That’s why we’re making the Festival free!
Making the festival free to all is the right thing to do. But as a grassroots nonprofit with no endowment or institutional backing, we can’t do it alone. We need the generosity of those who also believe that the more book-lovers a community has, the stronger, more secure, and more beautiful it is. We need a little help from our Friends.
What does it mean to be a Friend of the Festival?
The Friends is a very special circle of people who make it possible for every book lover in the Bay to experience the joy and inspiration of live literary events, without barriers. We show appreciation by offering thank-you gifts at each level of giving (see below).
Become a Friend today. You’ll help bring literary magic to everyone and will enjoy an extra-special Festival experience: a dedicated “Friends” access line at the venues (so you can be sure to see your favorite authors), tickets to the evening headliner programs, the opportunity to attend the pre-fest Authors Party, and more. All Friends also will be listed on our online First Edition donor page, and if you join before the cut-off date of April 7, in our print San Francisco Chronicle Festival Program Guide.*
