Matthew Spangler

Matthew Spangler is Professor of Performance Studies and Chair of the Department of Film, Theatre, and Dance at San José State. He is also an award-winning playwright. His plays have been produced on Broadway, in London’s West End, off-Broadway, at the Gaiety Theatre in Dublin, Dubai Opera House, as well as at many other theatres. The Broadway / West End version of his widely produced stage adaptation of Khaled Hosseini’s novel The Kite Runner will be on national tours in the U.S., U.K., and Ireland in 2024.
