Yesica Hurd

Yesica Hurd is a Mexican-American children’s librarian and author. She was born and raised in Fort Bragg, California. She earned a BA in English from Reed College and an MLIS from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. Currently, she is a Children’s Librarian at the Berkeley Public Library. Yesica writes children’s book reviews for Horn Book and, served on the 2023 Newbery committee. Her poetry and fiction has been published in Highlights High Five Magazine. She was selected as a 2023 WNDB mentee for her first middle-grade book. She lives in the Bay Area with her husband and three sons.
